VACANCY: FULL-TIME IMAM

The Central Mosque of Brent is seeking to appoint an experienced, knowledgeable, and community-focused Imam to provide religious leadership and support to our diverse and growing congregation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of North West London's active community mosques and contribute to a wide range of religious, educational, health, and community programmes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the five daily congregational prayers.

Deliver Jumu'ah and Eid Khutbahs.

Lead Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan.

Conduct Nikah ceremonies and funeral prayers.

Provide Islamic guidance and pastoral support to individuals and families.

Teach Qur'an, Islamic Studies, and educational classes for adults and children.

Engage positively with young people and support youth development programmes.

Participate in interfaith and community engagement activities.

Support the mosque's educational, health, and community initiatives.

Work closely with trustees, staff, volunteers, and the wider community.
Essential Requirements

Graduate qualification in Islamic Studies, Shariah, or equivalent Islamic scholarship.

Strong knowledge of Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, and contemporary issues facing British Muslims.

Excellent communication skills in English.

Ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups.

Experience serving as an Imam in the UK or abroad.

Excellent character, professionalism, and leadership qualities.

Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Desirable Skills

Fluency in Arabic.

Ability to communicate in Urdu or other community languages.

Experience in youth work and community engagement.

Experience in counselling and family support.

Experience delivering lectures and educational programmes.
Employment Details
Position: Full-Time Imam
Location: Central Mosque of Brent, London
Salary: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Accommodation: Available subject to agreement.
Working Hours: Flexible, including evenings, weekends, and religious occasions.
